About me

I’ve transitioned this website from when I was consulting, to more of a professional bio with a personal touch. After all, when we work with someone, we work with the whole-person, not just their professional experiences.

My personal and professional journey has been anything but normal, or linear. So, I hope this site helps tell the story of who I am, and where I want to go with my life.

“I fear mediocrity, not failure”

First, it’s my long term goal to be a business leader, and to continuously work with, and learn from, great people all along the way. As I’ve matured, it’s become clear that running a successful business requires deep knowledge on many dimensions. So, I’ve branched out from my early experiences in product development to learn marketing, marketing, sales, finance, and business strategy. As well as, focusing on the more intangible, yet hyper important, elements of culture, planning, and communication. I’ve been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from some incredible leaders and accomplished individuals. I’ve relished in learning and applying Clay Christensen’s Jobs-to-be-done marketing theory, as well as, Andy Rachleff‘s Product-Market fit framework for several early businesses and product opportunities.

Secondly, I’m a people person at my core. I believe emotional and social intelligence are by far the most undervalued attributes someone can have. Their impact on creating lasting relationships can not be understated. I love to teach, coach, and help others be successful.

Lastly, ever since my days as a food server, I’ve become obsessed with creating great customer experiences. These are the things that people remember, and probably the most difficult for thing for competitors to replicate.

 
 

I am a fun loving and hard working guy, who never shuts off. I am an experienced entrepreneur, an ex-scholarship athlete, and an avid reader. I have an extraordinary family, including a beautiful wife and two extraordinary daughters, who keep me grounded and always striving for my best.
